Case file · trade verdict

Weak process · poor outcome

The result matched the process — this wasn't unlucky. A disciplined exit makes it a small, forgettable loss.

AI verdict · Professional

Inconsistent process is undermining decent entries.

Your win rate is 70%, but your average loss (£312) is 3.1× your average win (£101). Net result: -£255. You cut winners in under a day and hold losers for 4+ days. Entries are solid — define a 2% max loss per trade and enforce it before entry.

Illustrative example — metrics like R-multiple, MFE and MAE appear when market data is available.

The service

What is Roast My Trades?

Roast My Trades is an AI-powered trading coach and journal analyser for beginner traders. You upload trade records exported from your broker (CSV) or enter them manually, and the app uses Gemini AI to review your process — entry timing, position sizing, exit behaviour, and risk management. Each trade is rated Good, OK, or Bad based on process quality, not just whether it was profitable.

Feedback is delivered in two tones: Professional (calm, structured, actionable) or Roast Me (blunt and funny — same data, different delivery). The app also detects recurring behavioural patterns across your trades, such as holding losers too long, cutting winners early, or entering on FOMO.

Google Sign-In is used only to create and authenticate your account. We request your email address and basic profile information solely to identify your account. Your trade data belongs to you — it is never sold or shared with third parties.

Roast My Trades does not provide financial advice. All AI feedback is for educational and reflective purposes only. See our Terms and Privacy Policy.

Two tones

Same data. Two tones.

Professional

Inconsistent process is undermining decent entries.

Your win rate is 70%, but your average loss (£312) is 3.1x your average win (£101). Net result: -£255. You cut winners in under a day and hold losers for 4+ days. Entries are solid — most winners started in the first hour of market open. Define a 2% max loss per trade and enforce it before entry.

Roast Me

70% win rate, also 100% vibes-only risk management.

You're basically a reverse casino. Fourteen tiny hands, six spectacular face-plants. Your average loser is 3x your average winner — that's collecting coins while standing under a piano. You hold losers like they're going to text you back. They won't. Your first-hour entries are actually quite good, so stop strangling them on the way out.

Pattern analysis

One trade tells you what happened. A basket tells you why it keeps happening.

Group any trades from your library into a basket and the AI compares them against each other — surfacing the habits that repeat across your history, not just the story of one trade. A basket costs the same single credit as analysing one trade, however many you group together.

Single trade

Case file · TSLA-0417

Weak process · poor outcome

Held 4 days — stop moved twice. One trade, one story.

VerdictBAD34 / 100
Process 34/100MAE -£310

Nothing to compare it against. Was this a bad habit, or a one-off? A single trade can't say.

Basket of 14 trades

Case file · basket verdict

Solid entries undermined by inconsistent exits.

VerdictOK58 / 100

8 of 12 entries landed within 0.5% of the session low — the edge is real. But average winner hold is 1.2 days against 6.8 days for losers. Fix the exits and this batch turns green.

Market context

Choppy April with two sharp relief rallies — conditions that punish held losers and reward quick, disciplined exits.

You held this for nine days like it owed you money.
It tapped your stop loss on day two and you moved it. Twice. That's not conviction — that's negotiating with a burning building.

Recurring causes of death

Seven patterns. One honest report.

The AI detects the most common behavioural mistakes in beginner traders. Most people have two or three dominant patterns — the same bad habits appearing across different instruments and market conditions.

Panic sell

Closing early out of fear before your plan triggered an exit.

FOMO buy

Entering late after the move — chasing price, buying tops.

Revenge trading

Aggressive entries to recover a recent loss.

Holding losers

Refusing to exit a losing trade, waiting for recovery.

Cutting winners

Closing profitable trades before your target, missing the move.

Oversized position

Trading too large — normal adverse moves become outsized damage.

DCA sequence

Adding to a losing position without a pre-planned strategy.
